VISHNU= The One who is pervasive in space. The one who is boundless, unlimited and the very source of sustenance. SHIVA= The One who is beyond time i.e. Mahakala, also known as the timeless one. The One who is the seed of stillness, denoted by "Shi" and the impetus for movements denoted by "Va". Both these events are subsets of time by its own virtues. BRAHMA= Known to be the Creator, but also to have stemmed out of Vishnu. One BRAHMA for each separate universe For thousands of years, scriptures have shown how VISHNU and SHIVA been unequivocally treated the same, both being seen as personification and embodiment of one another, neither are disparate, but rather a unified embodiment. However, over the passing of years, many centuries later, certain sections of the community that were politically motivated stemmed away from this unification acceptance and propounded a bisected belief, leading to never ceasing debate of who is greater; Vishnu or Shiva. Efforts that have been put into place to revive this unity concept so far have been satisfactory but only been successful as a social solution rather than elucidating a deeper revelation within this unity concept that exist in our belief system, and the scriptures. It was not until the last century, that Einstein created a very bizarre connection between space and time, treating both as the facet of one another. SPACE which was once seen as flat, right angled and 2 dimensional , is now perceived as a fabric which folds, turns and curved creating ripple like effects across the universe. Mathematics just got a whole lot tougher, and calculus enriched. TIME which was once seen as linear and straight is now treated to be non-linear and just as the fabric of space, bends and curves in a never ending continuum of space-time fabric. SPACE = TIME, who would have thought that, or did we know that all along but was to ignorant and proud to accept that perhaps people of the past have reached into that understanding many eons years earlier (VISHNU = SHIVA)? Perhaps it was just a coincidence, but what a majestically simple coincidence can that be? Universes are created at all times around us, the space around us is steaming with creations, many dissolves as soon as they are created and yet some persists, but eludes our simple mind. This is what Quantum Physics says after 6 decades of development, aptly condensed and summarized just within a couplet in the scriptures. As for the futile debate of who is greater between Vishnu- Shiva, I shall leave that to be decided by an equally futile research question of which leads in precedence; Space or time.
